Remove all packaging and place the toaster on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from cupboards and curtains.
Make sure the crumb tray is pushed fully into place.
Pull out only as much cord as you need from the cord storage and plug in.
Start in the middle of the 6 levels and adjust up or down after the first slice.
