One-Button Cork Removal
Using it is simple enough that one owner opened a bottle before reading the instructions. Cut the foil, place the opener squarely over the neck, and press the down button: the worm spins into the cork and the motor draws it up into the transparent body, where you can watch it rise, while a blue light shows it is working. Lift the opener off the bottle and press the other button to push the cork off the worm. Another owner describes the two buttons in exactly that way, with no muscle power needed. Ease of use is the most praised quality by a wide margin, and one owner who hosts often says it has been reliable at every gathering. It is also a small pleasure to use, and enjoyment draws praise with almost no dissent. Cork removal itself is less consistent. It draws more complaints than praise, with some units failing to extract corks cleanly. Keeping the opener exactly vertical and the bottle still, and pressing firmly on the neck so the worm enters the center of the cork, improves the odds; a worm that enters at an angle is the most common way any corkscrew breaks a cork or pushes it sideways.
