TL;DRThe Short Answer: Is the Lenovo V-Series V15 Business Laptop Worth It?

Plenty of work laptops feel slow the moment you open a second app. This Lenovo V15 is the opposite: a Ryzen 7 7730U, 40GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD make it quick and roomy, and it is fast and light enough for home and office work. It suits spreadsheets, browsing and multitasking rather than anyone who cares about the screen. The main catch is the display, and there is a small surprise about which port the charger uses.

NoFussDeal rates the Lenovo V-Series V15 Business Laptop 4.0 out of 5 at $1,099.00. Last updated September 26, 2026.

What Stands Out

  1. AMD Ryzen 7 7730U with 8 cores, 16 threads and up to 4.5 GHz, plus integrated AMD Radeon Graphics
  2. 40GB of RAM and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD, both praised by owners for speed and space
  3. 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen, numeric keypad and Windows 11 Pro
  4. Wired RJ45 Ethernet, HDMI, USB-C, two USB-A ports, 802.11ax Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5

Strengths and Drawbacks

What works

  • 40GB of RAM keeps many apps and browser tabs open with no lag when switching
  • 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD gives fast start-up and plenty of room for years of files
  • Ryzen 7 7730U with 8 cores and 16 threads makes everyday and office work feel quick
  • Full-size keyboard with a numeric keypad suits spreadsheets, accounts and data entry
  • RJ45 Ethernet, HDMI and three USB ports cover most desk setups without adapters
  • Windows 11 Pro includes BitLocker encryption and Remote Desktop for work use
  • Light at 3.6 pounds, easy to set up, and quick to boot

What does not

  • The screen is the most criticised part, with owners describing washed out colour and weak viewing angles
  • Not a touchscreen, and the keyboard is not backlit
  • The charger uses the only USB-C port, so a dock or USB-C display needs a barrel-plug adapter
  • Battery life and build quality get mixed reports from buyers

Ryzen 7 7730U: Quick for Everyday and Office Work

CPU AMD Ryzen 7 7730U (8 cores, 16 threads) Max speed 4.5 GHz Cache 16 MB

Lenovo fits the V15 with an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U: 8 cores, 16 threads, 16MB of cache, a 2.0 GHz base speed and up to 4.5 GHz, with integrated AMD Radeon Graphics. Processor speed is one of its strongest points. Windows loads in seconds, and switching between several memory hungry apps and Chrome tabs happens with no lag. It is a laptop for browsing, documents, taxes, video and the occasional simple video edit, not for modern gaming, and bought on that basis it satisfies.

40GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD

RAM 40 GB Storage 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD Operating system Windows 11 Pro

Memory and storage are where this configuration stands out. Lenovo says the 40GB of RAM is there to run multiple applications and browser tabs at once, and the 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD gives fast start-up and plenty of space. That holds up in use: the amount of RAM and drive space is one of its biggest strengths. Setup is easy too, and it is ready to use straight out of the box. Linux installs easily and runs smoothly on it.

The Screen Is the Weak Spot

Resolution 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) Refresh rate 60 Hz Touch No

The 15.6-inch display is Full HD, 1920 x 1080, on a 60 Hz LCD panel, and it is the weakest part of the V15. Colours look washed out and less saturated than on most other computers, and viewing angles are narrow, though updating the AMD graphics drivers can improve things. It is not a touchscreen. For spreadsheets, email and browsing it does the job, and the dullness is mostly obvious with another screen beside it. For photo work or watching films, plan on an external monitor over HDMI.

Ports, Battery and the USB-C Charging Catch

Weight 3.6 lbs Battery Rated 8 hours (38 Wh) Ports USB-C, 2x USB-A, HDMI, RJ45

For office use the connections are generous: one USB 3.2 Type-C, one USB 3.2 Type-A, one USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI, RJ45 Ethernet for wired networking and a headphone and microphone combo jack, plus 802.11ax Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5. At 3.6 pounds it is light for its size, and it is easy to carry. The catch is charging: the supplied charger uses the only USB-C port, so if you want that port for a dock or extra monitors you will need a barrel-plug charging adapter, which solves it. Battery life is rated at 8 hours from a 38 watt-hour battery, and real-world stamina varies; expect several hours, with a quick recharge. Build quality reports are mixed too.

How We Scored It

Based on
The manufacturer's published specifications and the product's live Amazon listing.
Owner rating
4.2 out of 5 on Amazon, recorded September 26, 2026
How we score
We score each thing that comes up most in owner feedback on the Lenovo V-Series V15 Business Laptop. Eight things come up most in owner feedback: five draw praise, two split opinion and one draws mostly complaints. Its ratings average 4.2 stars (68% five stars, 12% four, 6% three and 14% one or two), so every score starts at 84, that average on a 100 point scale. Where opinion is split, we take off 6. Where it draws mostly complaints, we take off 12. Then we read six owner reviews in full (every one we found gave it four or five stars) and move the score up to 5 points either way depending on how the owners who mention it rated the product. Our overall score starts from the same 4.2 star average and loses 0.1 for each thing that draws mostly complaints, with 0.1 more when at least a tenth of ratings are one star, never more than 0.3 in all. Here that takes off 0.2, which gives 4.0. Read our editorial standards

Setting It Up

  1. Power On and Set Up Windows 11 Pro

Plug the charger into the USB-C port, press the power button and follow the Windows 11 Pro setup: region, keyboard layout, network and account. It boots straight up out of the box and setup is easy.

  2. Update Windows and AMD Drivers

Run Windows Update until nothing new appears, then install the latest AMD graphics drivers. One owner who updated the AMD drivers found the display and viewing angle complaints others mention were not a problem for them.

  3. Check Memory and Storage

Open Task Manager and look at the Performance tab to confirm the memory, then check the drive in File Explorer under This PC. You should see about 40GB of RAM and a 1TB drive, which is what this configuration ships with.

  4. Adjust the Display

In Settings, then System, then Display, set brightness and scaling to suit you and turn off any power saving option that dims the screen if colours look flat. The panel looks dull next to other screens, so tune it before judging it.

  5. Plan Your Ports

The charger takes the only USB-C port. If you want USB-C free for a dock or extra monitors, owners recommend a barrel-plug charging adapter, which lets the laptop charge through its round power port instead.

  6. Connect to Your Network

Plug an Ethernet cable into the RJ45 port for a steady wired connection at a desk, or join Wi-Fi from the network icon in the taskbar. Pair a mouse or headset over Bluetooth 5 from Settings, then Bluetooth and devices.

Common Questions

What processor does the Lenovo V15 have?

Lenovo fits this configuration with an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U: 8 cores, 16 threads, 16MB of cache, a 2.0 GHz base speed and up to 4.5 GHz, with integrated AMD Radeon Graphics. It is fast for browsing, office work and everyday multitasking, but it is not meant for modern gaming.

How much memory and storage does it have?

It has 40GB of RAM and a 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. That is a lot for a work laptop, and it shows: there is no lag switching between memory hungry apps and many Chrome tabs, and storage capacity is one of its biggest strengths. Once it arrives, Task Manager's Performance tab shows the installed memory.

Does the Lenovo V15 have a touchscreen or backlit keyboard?

Neither. The 15.6-inch Full HD screen is a standard non-touch panel, and the keyboard is not backlit. The screen is also its weakest part, with washed out colour and narrow viewing angles, so consider an external monitor for anything colour sensitive.

How good is the battery life?

Battery life is rated at 8 hours from a 38 watt-hour battery, and buyers are divided on it. One owner gets several hours of use and says it recharges quickly, while others are less satisfied. If you need a full day away from a socket, carry the charger.

What ports does it have, and why do owners talk about the charger?

You get one USB 3.2 Type-C, one USB 3.2 Type-A, one USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI, RJ45 Ethernet and a headphone and microphone combo jack, plus 802.11ax Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5. Note that the supplied charger plugs into the only USB-C port. If you want that port for a dock or extra screens, a barrel-plug charging adapter frees it up.

Is the Lenovo V15 good value, and what are the trade-offs?

For the right buyer, yes. Its processor speed, light weight, storage capacity and easy setup are real strengths, and it makes a fine home computer. The trade-offs are a dull screen, mixed reports on battery life and build quality, and the USB-C charging arrangement. If speed, memory and storage matter more to you than the display, it is a strong match.

The Verdict

4.0Out of 5

The Lenovo V15 gets the important parts right for office and home use. The Ryzen 7 7730U, 40GB of RAM and 1TB SSD make it quick to boot, smooth with many apps open and roomy enough for years of files, and it is light and easy to set up. The numeric keypad, RJ45 Ethernet and Windows 11 Pro add real working value. The screen is the weak point, with washed out colour and viewing angle complaints, and there is no touch or keyboard backlight. Battery life and build quality get mixed reports, and the charger occupies the only USB-C port. If you work mostly at a desk, or plan to add a monitor, those trade-offs are easy to live with.

Who should buy it

  • Office and home workers who run many apps and browser tabs at once and want a laptop that stays quick
  • Anyone who enters numbers all day and wants a full numeric keypad and wired Ethernet
  • Buyers who want lots of local storage for files and photos without relying on the cloud
  • Linux users looking for a roomy, well specified machine that takes a Linux install easily

Buy the Lenovo V15 for speed, memory and storage in a light, practical work laptop, and plan on an external monitor if screen quality matters to you. Skip it if you need a vivid display, a touchscreen, a backlit keyboard or a free USB-C port out of the box.
