Spring-Loaded Rubber Grips
Each of the five slots is a spring-loaded clip padded with rubber on both sides. Push a handle in and the clip closes around it; pull and it lets go. The rubber stops wet mops and dirty rakes sliding down, which is the main failing of cheap open hooks. Berry Ave says the slots fit handles from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches, so a slim broom and a thick-handled shovel can hang side by side, and it rates each slot at up to 35 pounds. Tools hang head down, which helps mop heads drain and keeps broom bristles from bending under the tool's weight.
